Train services interrupted as flooding causes chaos!
All services were stopped today on the MPLR as water had flooded the line. Was this due to too much rain? Had a sunami just occurred? No, unfortunately the old water tower which has done the MPLR a fine job until today finally fell apart and toppled to the ground. Causing chaos and flooding as it fell, it was found this morning by one of the workers for the pit who had arrived early for the morning train.
The crane was called in to help with the removal of the tower which had proved too heavy for Hamish and Job to even start moving!
It’s going to be a long day as the old water tower will have to be dismantled before it can be moved.
The boys are a bit sad that it has come to such a bad ending for the old water tower, but it can’t be helped and the new one will soon have to be in place so things can get back to normal on the MPLR.
