Late shift at the MPLR
As the evenings begin to draw in, the staff of the MPLR find themselves working late into the evening on occasions. With the completion of the the building work on the station areas, there has been a lot of decorating and fitting out to do. The new cafe is nearly ready for action and the new offices are almost complete. Over the past few weeks a new water tower has been installed too. Busy busy.
As you can see below, the staff are hard at work decorating the new cafe. It is hoped that the cafe will be open to the public very soon.
The last run of the day, as we pull into the station we see the new floodlight working on the front of the engine shed. This new floodlight enables the crews to maintain and prepare engines around the clock if ness. Whos paying all that overtime?
The new hoist. Very useful for all those lifting jobs that are so difficult to carry out without the proper equipment.
A rather nice night time shot of the water tower.
and we just had to add this rather atmospheric photo of the water tower as the sun sets. Nice isnt it?
